Thapar University, Patiala, Punjab - 147004 BE, BTech Admissions 2011-2012 Applications have been invited for admission to BE / BTech courses of Thapar University, Patiala for the Academic Year 2011-12. Admission to BE / BTech Programs shall be made on the basis of merit in All India Engineering Entrance Examination (AIEEE-2011) to be conducted by CBSE, New Delhi on May 1, 2011. Only those candidates shall be eligible, who score at least 20% (15% for SC / ST) aggregrate marks in AIEEE-2011. In addition, minimum 60% (55% for SC/ST) marks in aggregrate of Physics, Mathematics and Chemistry / Biology / Biotechnology / Computer Science at 10+2 or equivalent examination are also required to be eligible for admission. 50% of the seats of BE / BTech program are reserved for the candidates who have passed/(or appearing) in their +2 examination from Institutions located in Punjab.
Prospectus cum Application form can be obtained from Counter of Thapar University on payment of Rs.1500/- in cash or by post on sending a DD for the same amount. Application forms can also be obtained from the selected branches of AXIS Bank on payment of Rs.1500/-. Amrita Institute of Medical Sciences, Kochi – MBBS, BDS and BAMS Admissions 2011
Amrita Entrance Examination (Medical) 2011, for admission to MBBS, BDS and BAMS (Ayurveda) courses under the Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham, will be held from 10 am to 12.30 pm on 22nd May 2011 (Sunday) at Delhi, Kolkata, Hyderabad, Chennai, Bangalore, Coimbatore, Kozhikode, Kochi, Amritapuri (Kollam) and Thiruvananthapuram and also at California, U.S.A.
Amrita Entrance Exam will be of objective type with approximately 25 questions from Physics, 35 from Chemistry, 70 from Biology/Biotechnology, 10 from English and 10 from General Knowledge. The syllabus for Amrita Entrance Examination will be as per the 10 + 2 examination (CBSE). Each correct response will be awarded three marks and for each incorrect response one mark will be deducted from the total score.
Applicant should have attained at least 17 years of age as on 31st December 2011, but should not have crossed the age of 23 years as on that date. Applicant must have passed plus two or equivalent Examination with Physics, Chemistry and Biology /Biotechnology and English. They should have passed in these subjects individually and should have obtained a minimum of 60% marks in English and 60% marks in Physics, Chemistry and Biology/Biotechnology taken together, from any State Higher Secondary Board or equivalent (Biotechnology subject will be considered only for MBBS). For SC/ST Candidates, minimum marks required in plus two is 50% and 40% in the Amrita Entrance Examination.
Applicant must have passed the Higher Secondary Examination/equivalent in first attempt (Exemptions may be considered only on medical grounds and the decision of the Chairman-Admissions will be final and binding). The last two years of such study should include Physics, Chemistry, Biology/Biotechnology and English (Biotechnology subject will be considered only for MBBS). Students studying in foreign countries following a syllabus other than any Indian syllabus should produce an Equivalence Certificate from The Association of Indian Universities, A.I.U House, 16 Comrade Indrajit Gupta Marg [Kotla Marg], New Delhi-110002.
Those awaiting results of the qualifying examination can also write the Amrita EntranceExamination subject to their producing the mark list of the qualifying examination on or before 6th June 2011. Cost of Application form is Rs. 1,500 / - Prospectus andApplication forms will be available from Branches of Dhanalaxmi Bank and Federal bank as per the list available at http://aims.amrita.edu/school-of-medicine/mbbs_admission.php
Application can be obtained by Speed Post/Courier from ‘The Admission Coordinator, Office of Admissions, Amrita Health Sciences Campus, AIMS Ponekkara, Kochi, Kerala-682 041, by sending a request along with a DD for Rs.1,570/- drawn in the name of Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham, payable at Kochi.
Application can also be downloaded from www.amrita.edu and submitted along with a DD for Rs. 1,500/-, drawn in the name of Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham, payable at Kochi. Application can be submitted Online at www.amrita.edu as per the instructions there. The last Date for sale of Application is 25th April 2011.
