According to Islamic preaching, Islam emphasis on wisdom, such motivation couldn't see in any other religion or school of thought. Although the development of any country or nation depends upon the related to the quality of education. Those nations reach their destinations whose country's rulers take steps for the educational uplifting. In order to provide the platform to our coming generation where they could play their active role in the development of the country.
Rulers having different schools of thought but their destination are same for the betterment for the nation and country as well. Chief Minister of Punjab a Shahbaz Sharif one of think-tank who has made various interventions for poverty improvement. He has recently taken initiative for an educational Project title "Danish School System", perusing initiatives in the education sector encompassing access to education, core content of quality, attendance of teachers, their training and ability to teach, up-gradation and standardization of curriculum, etc.
"To acquire knowledge, one must study; but to acquire wisdom, one must observe" (Marilyn vos Savant)
"Centers of Excellence Authority", established by the Government of Punjab through an Act passed by the legislature. The word "Danish" originates from Persian language, adopted in Urdu and means deep rooted wisdom that results from consistent accumulation and assimilation of knowledge.
At present, six Danish Schools are functional in two districts of Southern Punjab i.e. Bahawalpur and Rahim Yar Khan. The schools, situated at Christian, Hasilpur and Rahim Yar Khan, are six in number as each school has two separate buildings and other infrastructure for boys and girls. Four projects of Danish Schools are in pipeline in Attock, Dera Ghazi Khan, Mianwali and Rajenpur districts. Chief Minister of Punjab a Shahbaz Sharif intends to open Dansih Schools all over the country. Large amount has allocated in the development work like in the case of Attock, worth Rs400 to 500 million was in progress in Attock; in the new budget, Rs500 million would be allocated for development work in Attock.
Opening such a schooling system in far-flung areas of the province also demonstrates that Punjab rulers were not only interested in betterment of the lot of urban elite's children but their heart also bleeds for the rural population deprived of basis needs. Education up to higher secondary classes would be imparted in these schools and under this system every school would be English medium and religious courses would also be started in these schools. Punjab Educational Endowment Fund had been set up for the first time in the history of the country for providing financial assistance to talented students facing economic problems to enable them to continue their studies.
It is pertinent to mention that strict admission criteria is being followed to ensure merit-based admission of the students, 90 percent of whom include student from the marginalized section of the society with a household income less than or not more than Rs 6000 ($ 70) per month. All such students are being provided educational and boarding facilities for free. Such schools should be opened across the country to end the deprivation of the poor.
The Punjab Chief Minister should also devote attention to the technical education sector, and should take steps to highlight its importance. There is no doubt that the education system in Pakistan is fast falling apart mainly because of the poor quality of education and inadequate availability of funds.
The official claim puts the literacy rate at 49.9 per cent (Punjab: 59 percent), while in actual fact it is far lower. In such a backdrop the step for education up lifting like launching Danish Schools is strikingly good, particularly in a country like ours where literacy rate is less than any other state of the South Asian region, let alone the rest of the world. The Chief Minister of Punjab, Mian Shahbaz Sharif, must be complimented for this "Educational Project". This is also very encouraging to observe that the Chief Minister has not relaxed after announcing the project but is keenly taking a follow-up action by frequently visiting the sites of these schools. If the Punjab government can achieve desired results from Danish Schools, this system then can be spread to entire province, and the rest of the country can follow it.
Well, the solution of backwardness and poverty lies in the promotion of quality education.
