Some older iMacs with Core 2 Duo were not supported in the first Lion Beta. Has this been changed or updated with this release?

I'd be so pissed/happy if it were to become free... 1 year of .Mac and 2 years of MobileMe.
Pissed, I spent $99 for 3 years
Happy, more people will have access to MobileMe's benefits.
I do not understand this flawed logic. Making it free does not impact the service's values for the last three years. If you did not think it was worth the price you paid, you should not have renewed it.
I say this has someone who has paid for dotmac/mobileme since it stopped being iTools. Unlike you, my average yearly cost was 30 dollars because I bought them off of eBay.

Give us back the 12". Its all I'm asking.
Exactly...a 12 incher with Core 2 Duo, backlit keyboard and a reasonable GPU is all I need...nothing really fancy.

sadly with all the hype, real and otherwise, i won't be impressed with the first iteration even if it slices and toasts bagels for me. you gotta admit that some first apple efforts, while cool in design, limp out of the gate when compared to other manufacturers (how long did it take to get a CD-R in a laptop or desktop as one example)
that's not to say that i don't usually end up embracing what cupertino puts forth, please everyone understand that nokia, sony-e, motorola and the others have been doing phones far longer than apple. there's no possible way apple one-ups them on the first go.

what's this redeem code? i have applied the minor update via Software Update, but nothing happened?
You need to install an update from Software Update first. Then Restart. Then go to the Dev Center and get a redeem code. Then go to the Mac App Store, redeem a and download.

I'm strangely ok with this news. Sure, I'd like to have a new iPhone but in all honesty, my iPhone 4 is meeting my needs just fine. If I had a 3GS I'd be more upset about it.

Has Apple EVER released any consumer products at WWDC? It sounds like some people are going to be in for a real dissapointment when no iphone comes out. I thought they were trying to transition from releases at big conferences anyway.

How about glass that doesn't get scratched when a piece of hair lands on it?
I like this idea about the glass haha.
Im probably going to wait out this version as long as iOS5 runs fine on the iPhone 4. If the release date is September than this version will be even more disappointing to me as it seems to be a spec bump. I dont play games on my phone so the A5 and graphics chip probably wont impact my usage significantly.
I really hope iOS5 is good, but im prepared for the worst ha!

This whole discussion is stupid.
Apple is not going to endorse a major company's ad program that encourages the general consumer to JB their phone. It's risky for many people and it voids the Apple warrantee. Period.
Apple asking Toyota to pull it was the only thing they could do and Toyota was smart enough to see the error in their way.
Sorry... but JB has risks and it's not for everyone.

Apple better watch who they pick fights with, especially with one of the largest corporations in the world. I love Apple but I honestly wish Toyota would just tell them to F off.

Releasing on MAS is posible in some sort of .DMG, .IMG Image ready to burn on DVD or copy to USB Key, Look at Xcode 4 for example. Apple may put detailed instructions on how to do it on the MAS description page.
The question is: How Much?
$129 + tax

No, he's saying Apple does not track your location. There has been no evidence that any of the location information leaves your phone/computer. Whether that file should exist or not is another debate.
Google servers are receiving every single bit of tracking info. Apples servers dont. As easy. Lets not forget this big picture here.
Is there a link to a site showing that Google logs the tracking info on their servers?
Many of the arguments on this issue seem to centre on the fact that Android's onboard log only stores the most recent entries and then deletes them, but if they're uploaded to Google that would not only nullify that point, but provide an excellent (and legitimately frightening) counter example.

I'd like to make sure of some things.
The villain started with 0 points. He then earned 2 points by taking two turns.
We did our thing
He took two more turns earning 2 more points for 4 total. He obviously used at least one point to make a goblin. So he had 3 or less points, depending on whether he bought more traps. They could be anywhere, even far from where we currently are (e.g., he could be putting defenses around his lair. )
Do I have that straight?
You got all that correct.

[QUOTE=mackiwi]umm....that magazine add looks rather real to me. WTF?
iCreate magazine buts together a fake ad each issue. The ad shown is a kind of "What if" or "Wishful Thinking" feature of their magazine. Had the poster posted the full page graphic, you would have seen this.

I would suggest that we always move forward. I think going backwards is only something worth considering IF am adventurer sustains significant injury and we had JUST left a room w an unused healing potion / talisman / chingas. Why give mscriv the opportunity to seed traps behind us?

You win that one. :D Although I cannot find the product page for laptop Core 2 Duos, only those for the desktop.Carlos, Intel's web site is notoriously out of date. I have never been able to find any current info on their site. Do not expect to ever rely on the Intel website for up-to-date info about themselves. It is an extremely poorly designed site.

1-the most useful function of av software for me is the ability to identify corrupt files [an unintended effect]
when the program scans a disk it attempts to open every file.
if a file has a bad resource or data fork it throws up an error
gives you a chance to find a good copy
works on archives too, but not disk images
i find this very useful, but have never seen it mentioned in any of these endless anti-av flame threads
2-i have a large collection of ancient mac software
these programs did get viruses [even on oem diskettes!]
virusbarrier helped me find and correct several infected files
[although it mistakenly identified an early system file as a virus! fortunately i had a backup!]
virusbarrier plays well with my g4 mac. reasonably fast, low processor use, and ok to keep installed. [very stingy with updates though]
norton works well and has generous updates, but even having it installed on my machine causes serious problems [even when it's turned off!]. and it eats process cycles for breakfast, lunch and dinner.
clam av is free, and has identified some pc files as infected, but it never caught the ancient virii that vb found. it runs a LOT slower than vb on my mac.
most interesting to me is the fact that all 3 programs give different results!
for me, virus scanning is a once in a great while thing, and of the 3 above virusbarrier is best.
what puzzles me is that i have a bunch of small pc files from the net which i am convinced are malware [exact same files with wildly different names]. none of the above agree with me.
i will give sophos a try and see what happens.
they really push a lot of fud on their site tho

It feels right to me to make the fabled video ipod into a home theatre controller as well. That would be a must have item for many people.

Okay let's break it down per handset. 97 android phones with different versions of android (per wikipedia).. 5 different iPhones since 2007... which has greater share per handset?
Just because Android is flooding the market doesn't make it a superior mobile OS. Just one that caters to the lowest common denominator.
People I've talked to with Android-based smartphones aren't happy with the interface and some have decided to go iPhone after showing them the differences.

Hi,
I've said it before, and I'll say it again. I will pay up to $5,000 for an Apple branded Tablet Mac.
You can almost have your $5K talet Mac today. Just get a Macbook Pro and one of these from Wacom
http://www.wacom.com/lcdtablets/index.cfm
and plug it into the MBP's USB port. OK the packaging is not so nice. So get a wireless interface between the Wacom tablet and the Macbook that you keep in your backpack.
I think this is what Apple will release basically a "Cintiq" with a macbook inside. Kind of like an iMac is an LCD screed with a mac inside.
